  • Hearing Aid Research Recruitment
    • My name is Emily Ammerman and I am a staff member in the Auditory
Perception Lab at Brown University. We have received a grant from the
state of Rhode Island to evaluate algorithms for speech
intelligibility that could hopefully help in designing more effective
      hearing aids.
    • We need participants with hearing impairment to enroll in research at
Brown University in Providence RI that is trying to improve sound
intelligibility for hearing aids of the future. Participants need to be diagnosed with
either mild-moderate or moderate-severe hearing loss and will be asked
to provide a copy of their most recent audiogram. Being selected for
enrollment requires a minimum amount of residual hearing and ability to perform
the required listening tasks. Participants may currently wear hearing aids
but may not have cochlear implants.
    • Experiment takes approximately eight one-hour sessions in the lab, and
pays $15/hr. Seeking reliable volunteers with good concentration.

    • If you are interested in helping this research, I look forward to
hearing back from you soon. For details about participation in this
